Meet Dr. Adam Dodds
Adam Dodds is Head of Theology at Alphacrucis and has a PhD and two Masters degrees in Christian Theology, as well as a Master's degree in Islamic Studies. Adam is also Teaching Pastor at Nexus Church in Brisbane. He has published academic articles on mission, the Qur’an, and Christian-Muslim relations.
In this class, he interviews Dr. Bernie Power, a missionary scholar who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in researching the comparative study of Islam and Christianity and reaching out to Muslims. The intensive week will also include a visit to a local mosque.
Join this class over a week in Feb 2025 as they teach, discuss and provide an expansive view on the topics of Islam and Christianity.
Why join this class?
The majority of people in the world who don’t know the gospel are Muslims. Islam is also the second largest religion in the world, (after Christianity) and is growing in Australia. The centre of the Islamic world, by population, is South and South-East Asia – on Australia’s doorstep. The Holy Spirit is on the move bringing Muslims to Christ right across the world now like never before. Get equipped to partner with the Holy Spirit in the mission of Jesus.
In Exploring Islam, we will study Islam from a Christian perspective. We will look at what Muslims believe and how that differs from Christian faith. We will study the Qur’an and other Islamic authoritative sources, and how they relate to and are different from the Bible. Most of all, this class will equip students to share the gospel with Muslims with confidence and be able to handle standard Islamic objections to Christian faith.
Include this subject for credit in your diploma or degree or take the subject as a stand-alone class without credit towards an award (audit).
