What is Disciple?

Disciple is a course aimed at developing strong foundations in people at your church resulting in resilient disciples.

It focuses on three major areas: Foundations, Habits, and Calling. Through world-class teaching from incredible pastors across the nation and specialists from Alphacrucis University College, the course aims to deepen understanding and foster spiritual growth in your church.

Who is Disciple for?

No matter the setting - whether it be in small groups, as a discipleship course, or in larger group settings - Disciple is designed to include everyone. Regardless of whether someone is new to faith or a part of your leadership team, the content of this course will challenge and inspire growth.

 

Alongside tools like Alpha, Disciple is designed to strengthen the faith of people in your church and develop dedicated followers of Jesus. It serves as a great next step for those seeking a deeper understanding of their faith, making it a valuable addition to your current discipleship journey.

How can Disciple be run?

Disciple is designed for flexibility, allowing for easy integration into various formats within your church. Whether you prefer to use it in a large group study projected onto a screen or in more intimate settings facilitated by small group leaders on a TV, the course adapts to your preferred teaching methods. This versatility ensures that Disciple can become a valuable addition to your church's discipleship pathways.

Upon logging in to the ACx platform, you'll find straightforward instructions for granting access to your church members, allowing them to lead small groups and engage in personal growth through Disciple. The process is designed to be user-friendly, allowing you to efficiently manage your church's annual subscription and facilitate meaningful engagement with the content. These instructions will guide you through every step, from account creation to enrolment in Disciple, ensuring a seamless experience for both you and your team.

What Content is Covered?

PART 1: FOUNDATIONS (Who am I becoming?)

  1. DISCIPLESHIP: What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?
  2. IDENTITY: What is my identity in Christ?
  3. MATURITY: How can I grow spiritually?
  4. THE WORD: What is the Bible?
  5. GOING DEEPER: How can I read and understand the Bible?
  6. OUR HERITAGE: What does it mean to be Pentecostal?

PART 2: HABITS (What should I be doing?)

  1. PRAYER: How should I pray?
  2. FAITH: How can I live by faith?
  3. GIFTS: How can I exercise spiritual gifts?
  4. HOLY SPIRIT: How can I be baptised in the Spirit?

PART 3: CALLING (How can I fulfill my calling?)

  1. CALLING: What is God calling me to be and do?
  2. EVANGELISM: How can I share my faith?
  3. THE CHURCH: What is the local church?

Are there any assessments?

No, Disciple is not an accredited course and does not require any formal assessments. You will not receive a certificate or qualification upon completion. However, we do provide discussion questions to help churches facilitate meaningful conversations around the course material.

The focus of Disciple is to enrich you and your peoples understanding and relationship with Jesus Christ, rather than to serve as an academic program.

What is ACx?

ACx is a new platform for micro online courses (or micro-credentials), offered by Alphacrucis University College.

 

Disciple will be accessible online on ACx – so it is easy for you or your congregation to access the content online, anytime, anywhere.

 

To access Disciple, you'll need to create an ACx account.

 

OpenLearning to ACx account migration

You may already have an account on ACx if you've engaged in programs such as Ministry Intensive or Safer Churches Workshop on the previous OpenLearning platform, as these courses and students have been migrated to ACx.

 

In this case, you don't need to create an account but can log in to ACx using your OpenLearning username and password. Your username will be your first and last name in the format of firstname.lastname.
